- Summarize the central idea of the overview in one or two sentences IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Online education is used for researching different topics
- List two to four specific details that support the central idea IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Online education is referred to distance learning
- Create an opportunity for further research by writing down two questions the text raises about the central idea (explicitly or implicitly). Explicit means stated clearly and in detail, leaving no room for confusion or doubt, while implicit means implied though not plainly expressed. In what ways is online education referred to as distance learning?
- Write down one word or phrase whose meaning you do not fully understand.
- Next, write down what may be preventing you from understanding it (is it an unrecognizable term? an unfamiliar person, place, or allusion?)
- Use a third party resource (dictionary, thesaurus, Google search) to find its definition or meaning. Write it down. Distance learning is a synonym for online education
- Write one question about the overview that you can pose to your peers in a discussion. How did online education become a reliable source for college students?
James, you are very smart, but I'm not sure you are reading the overviews in their entirety as you are repetitive in your answers. Here you were to "Create an opportunity for further research by writing down two questions the text raises about the central idea (explicitly or implicitly)." You only raised one question. Had you read the overview, I'm sure you could have come up with two. I gave you a 90/100 because you did most of the assignment, but I'm just not sure you did the actual reading. This is a reading and writing assignment, not just a writing assignment.
